About the Herald

What is The Herald of Christian Science?

Der Herold der Christlichen Wissenschaft was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1903 to “... proclaim the universal activity and availability of Truth” (My. 353:13-15). Der Herold was joined by Le Héraut (French) in 1918, El Heraldo (Spanish) in 1946, and O Arauto (Portuguese) in 1947.

Today, the Herald publishes articles and testimonies of Christian Science healing in 14 languages.

The Herald is one of three Christian Science magazines founded by Mary Baker Eddy, each with a unique mission. Its sister publications are The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel, published in English.

Each magazine is filled with articles written by its readers, as well as testimonies of spiritual healing experienced by Christian Scientists around the world.

Heroldens mission

I 1903 etablerede Mary Baker Eddy Kristen Videnskabs Herolden. Dens formål: ”At forkynde den universelle aktivitet og Sandhedens tilgængelighed.” Definitionen af ”herold” som beskrevet i en ordbog: ”Budbringer – et sendebud – udsendt for at viderebringe en meddelelse om, hvad der er i sigte,” giver en særlig betydning af navnet Herold og peger desuden på vores forpligtelse, vores individuelle forpligtelse til at se til, at vores Herolder opfylder den tillid, vi har til dem, – en tillid der er uadskillelig fra Kristus og først forkyndt af Jesus. ”Gå ud i alverden og prædik evangeliet for hele skabningen” (Markus 16:15).
